Strategic Planning Workshop

Development or refreshing of an organisation’s Strategic plan is critical to sustainable success.
Working with Leadership and the Board around confirmation of a strategic definition will be critical
There are clear outcomes from these interactions including how to move forward operationalising this plan.

Typically we work with Boards and Executive Teams to build buy-in and ownership of an organisation’s strategy
Workshop success results from thorough preparation with pre-work and research, identifying “open-topics’ need to be resolved
As part of the preparation working with respective Chairman and subject matter experts to ensure we get broad and representative contributions
Development of key artefacts for the day (cascade of choices and strategy map strawman etc.) which can then be completed off-line
Determination of “”needle-moving”” key projects or initiatives, progress of which will be reported back to the Board and well as other performance information once the strategic plan is developed (informs business plan).

Completion of the Strategic Plan

Having completed the preparatory work, run the Strategy Planning workshop we need to complete the development of the Strategic Plan.
The key elements of a Strategic Plan we carefully bring this content together in a ensuring their is clarity on direction which can later become a simplified execution process.

Achemar have adopted a contemporary design which is simple to maintain and will be developed with key Executives.
We leverage on-line tools such as Microsoft Forms for surveys and Zoom interviews to confirm the future direction.

As part of initiative definition are also considered as part of these inputs
We would also provide some thoughts around other planning reports which would be further expanded in the next (out-of-scope) activity to ensure alignment and effective reporting.

Alignment of Business Units (Business planning)

Critical to successful business planning is clarity on how any particular Business Unit strategy and direction aligns to the overall organisational or corporate direction.

Development of a simple framework which encourage both horizontal and vertical alignment will be key to ensuring this happens.

Elements involved here include:

  • Confirmation of BU strategy including target setting
  • Prioritisation of project initiatives
  • Discover potential gaps and needs for action
  • Create a linkage between corporate targets and individual targets as well
